Our Christmas lunch menu was  served from  1st December until christmas eve.

       STARTERS

Cream of broccoli soup with blue cheese tortellini and nutmeg.

 

Terrine of pressed Scottish salmon and dill, with Normandy crème fraîche.

 

Spinach roulade, with garlic, herb and crowdie cream cheese filling,

    served with homemade cranberry relish.

 

Salad of smoked duck breast and roasted chestnuts, with pear poached in  

     ginger and marsala wine stock, with elderberry vinaigrette.

 

 

      MAIN COURSE

 

 

Christmas Lunch :- Roast turkey with homemade stuffing and roasted tatties,   

      bread sauce, cranberry compote, pigs in blankets and natural  roast gravy.

 

Slow baked local Borders lamb, served on a parsnip and potato mash,

     with rich Christmas ale gravy.

 

 Paupiette of sole stuffed with prawns and smoked salmon,

      with saffron rice and asparagus foam sauce.

 

Loin of pork, with brandied apricot, pine nut and apple stuffing. With

      Coldingham Moor wild boar sausage, Dunbar cider gravy & crisp crackling.

 

Wild mushroom and rocket tart cooked in cream & herb sauce, topped with a  

      sage battered mushroom fritter.

 

 

       DESSERTS

 

 

Traditional Christmas pudding with warm brandy sauce.

 

Vanilla crème brûlée with homemade Christmas biscuits.

 

Sticky toffee pudding, with maple & walnut ice cream and toffee sauce.

 

Rich chocolate and amoretti cake, with homemade vanilla ice cream

      and a sweet cherry and mulled wine coulis.
